Speculative editorial illustration for a New Scientist article dated 31/10/12 titled “Are Europe’s Ash Trees Doomed?”, about the chalara ash dieback tree disease sweeping Europe from the East. It’s predicted around 95% of ash trees in Britain will be affected and wiped out, which accounts for a fifth of all our trees. Heavy stuff. Coloured pencil and watercolour on paper.
