Speculative editorial illustration for a New Scientist article dated 31/10/12 titled “Are Europe’s Ash Trees Doomed?”, about the chalara ash dieback tree disease sweeping Europe from the East. It’s predicted around 95% of ash trees in Britain will be affected and wiped out, which accounts for a fifth of all our trees. Heavy stuff. Coloured pencil and watercolour on paper.

Hey guys, I did another poster for those lovely people at Dueling Kazoos. I like this one, it has an elephant, and the elephant is green. These are good things to be, I think. Anyway, I used bristol board for the first time, which was really weird and smooth, so sorry about the strange colouring directional marks. no paper tooth = weird shading. Sozz. First time with new Faber-Castell Polychromos though! yay! such lovely colours. Peace out, enjoy the elephant.
